The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) currently runs a series of television advertisements that promote the Australian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP). The purpose of these advertisements is to direct people to the Rightcar website so they can check out the safety ratings of vehicles.
The NZTA and ACC have also launched a campaign that focuses on vehicle safety. The campaign specifically looks at side curtain airbags and electronic stability control. It aims to increase the awareness of these safety features in vehicles and asks people to consider these safety features as a priority in their next vehicle purchase.

From 1 November 2009, NZ Police will conduct compulsory tests on drivers they suspect of being under the influence of drugs (this includes some pharmacy medication). Our drug driving campaign is a public information campaign made up of messages on the radio and in the press. Stickers will also be placed on pharmacy guild bags so that people collecting medical prescriptions are aware of the change. It aims to make everyone aware of this change in legislation and urges people who take medication regularly to check that they can safely drive.

The rail safety campaign aims to increase community awareness of rail safety and to promote rail safety throughout New Zealand. The campaign focuses on vehicle and pedestrian safety around railways and is a collaboration between NZTA, NZ Police, Ontrack, Toll Rail, the Greater Wellington Regional Council, Veolia and the Chris Cairns foundation.
