The move from annual to three-year funding of land transport activities was one of the key recommendations of the Government’s Next Steps in the Land Transport Sector Review which will be implemented following the passage of the Land Transport Management Amendment Bill.
The New Zealand Transport Agency is working with approved organisations to create a new procurement environment and has published a new Procurement manual for activities funded through the national land transport programme.
The Domestic Sea Freight Development Fund is to help the sea freight sector prepare to play a greater role in our freight system. Public and private sector organisations can apply for funding from the domestic sea freight section of this website.
Funding and procurement manuals explain the processes approved organisations are required to follow when applying for funding and purchasing outputs.
The NZ Transport Agency provides funding for land transport primarily through the National Land Transport Programme (NLTP).
